Mardome Glass (Fixed/Unvented) Rooflight Installation and Technical Details

Brett Martin Daylight Systems supply useful installation guidance to help install your rooflights to last. All rooflights come supplied with installation guides.

Rooflight Measurement Information

The Mardome Flat Glass Rooflight to fit a builders upstand (Unvented) should be fitted onto a 75mm wide builders upstand with a minimum height of 150mm to ensure the rooflight is watertight. All rooflight size's shown on the website are based on the external upstand dimension, meaning if you brought a 600mm x 600mm rooflight, the external measurments of your builders upstand should also measure 600mm x 600mm. They have an acceptable tollerance of nominal rooflight size +20 / -0mm, which means the external dimensions of your upstand can be 20mm larger (for example 620mm x 620mm) and it will still fit, but it cannot be any less than the nominal rooflight size.

Rooflight Pitch Detail

Brett Martin Flat Glass Rooflights are suitable for flat roofs with a pitch of 2 - 15 degrees. A minimum pitch of 2 degrees is required to prevent water ponding on the glass leading to rapid dirt build up. Some larger sizes of Flat Glass Rooflights a minimum of 4 degrees pitch is required. If a roof is less than the minimum recommended pitch, the builder’s upstand must be built with a slope to ensure that the installed pitch of the rooflight is the minimum recommended pitch or greater. Builder’s upstands for Brett Martin Flat Glass rooflights must be built with the flat top of the upstand perpendicular to the sides as per the illustration below.
