The Harcon Corrovent Low Profile Plastic Roof Tile Cowl Vent to suit the Red Bank Double Roman Tile offers an unobtrusive low- or high-level ventilation solution complete with a round integral felt sleeve. (Image for illustration purposes only)

Tile Cowl Vent Features:

  • Cowl Incorporates barriers to prevent water ingress and block wind driven rain, allowing the water to drain away down slope.
  • Factory fitted round felt sleeve which significantly reduces the felt tearing that can occur around rectangular spigots.
  • Large spigot for excellent roof ventilation.
  • In most cases, one tile will need to be removed to install the tile vent – in some cases due to the size of the tile it will be more than one tile.
  • Covered by a 10 year warranty in relation to weather tightness and ventilation performance.

Delivery Charges

We offer a free standard delivery service on all orders over £500.00*. Orders under £500.00* will be charged a delivery fee. All delivery charges are calculated at basket and are dependent on the items ordered.

Our standard delivery area covers mainland England, Scotland (Excluding Highlands) and Wales. For all other areas around the UK an additional delivery charge will need to be applied, we will advise you of this charge before your order is dispatched. For deliveries to these areas we are happy to provide a free quotation upon request.

Mardome Rooflights

It is important to note that all Mardome rooflight orders are subject to a failed delivery charge in the event of unsuccessful delivery. This fee is £85 ex VAT and must be taken into account when making your purchase.

If you wish to return your order, please contact us. However, it is important to note that due to many Mardome rooflights being made to order, returns are only accepted in exceptional circumstances and a collection charge of £85 ex VAT will be applied if approved. We recommend taking the time to review your order carefully before making payment as this fee is non-refundable.

Roof Tile Vents

All the Roof Tile Vents and Cowls are made to order (due to thousands of combinations of different variants available) bespoke items which are non-returnable.
 


Other Information

Some of our products, because of their size (5m and over) and weight (over 80 kilos), have an estimated 5 to 7 working day lead time but we will endeavour to get them to you as soon as possible.

Maximum number of roof sheets available on one delivery is 40, otherwise a forklift is required please call for more information.

The Mardome Hi-Lights Range of Dome Rooflights have a 48 hour delivery schedule. Orders must be received by 1pm to qualify for the 48 hour (2 working days) delivery. Only available to mainland GB (excluding postcode areas begining KW, IV, AB, and PH).

We regret that timed deliveries cannot be given. Deliveries will be made between 8.00am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Please note all made to order items are made are non-returnable.

Signing For Your Delivery

All deliveries should be signed for and we would politely request that you sign and clearly print your name so that in the unlikely event that there are any discrepancies we will have a person to contact. If a signature cannot be obtained we will try to leave the goods in a safe location, but we cannot be held responsible for shortages or damages where goods have not been signed for.

Accepting Your Goods

Large or palletised goods will be delivered to a hard standing area only. The Customer shall be solely responsible for the unloading of the Goods and the Seller shall not be liable for any damage that occurs in the course of such unloading.

Any shortages or damages must be reported within 48 hours.

Delivery Vehicle

If goods aren't sent by our own vehicles they are sent by reputable carriers such as Tufnell's, Fed-Ex and Parcel Force. Heavier goods may be delivered by larger vehicles and will be off loaded as close as possible to the property whilst remaining on a hard standing surface.

Good Advice

Please do not arrange any labour until your materials are on site as we are unable to compensate you for your time in the event of a late delivery.

Installation in Slate Roof - Cowl or Roofline Vents
  1. Complete roofing to one course below the position for the slate roof vent.
  2. Hold vent in position as centrally as possible between the rafters and mark where the vent spigot touches the underlay. For 500mm x 250mm slates only – cut and remove section of batten.
  3. Cut underlay in a cross, fold up and back, nail over battens.
  4. Cut slates for next course below roof vent.
  5. Fit slate vent and nail to batten.
  6. Cut slates for next course (not for 600 x 300 roofline vents)

Installation in Tile Roof - Cowl or Roofline Vents
  1. Complete roofing to one course below the position for the tile vent.
  2. Hold roof vent in position as centrally as possible between the rafters and mark where the roof vent spigot touches the underlay.
  3. Cut underlay in a cross, fold up and back, nail over battens.

Installation of HV1 / HP1 Economy Slate Vents
  1. Complete roofing to one course below the position for the slate vent.
  2. Hold vent in position as centrally as possible between the rafters and mark where the vent spigot touches the underlay. For 500mm x 250mm slates only - cut and remove section of batten.
  3. Cut underlay in a cross, fold up and back, nail over battens.
  4. Cut slates for next course below vent.
  5. Fit slate vent and nail to batten.
  6. Cut slates for next course (not for 600mm x 300mm roofline vents).

Ridgeline Vent Installation
 
Installation of TV3N/ TV31N/ TV3SN
  1. Hold ridge roof vent in position and mark the underfelt directly below the ridge vent outlet. Cut and remove the underlay as marked.
  2. Bed ridge roof vents in mortar in a similar manner to the standard ridges. Nail the retaining straps to rafters/ridge board.
  3. Complete ridge in normal manner.
If using pipe adaptor clip to felt sleeve and attach CT1C flexitube, after fitting into roof.

What is the difference between a cowl vent and an inline roof tile vent?

Roof Tile Cowl Vent - Also know as a CV10K (Small Cowl) or a (CV20K), the roof tile cowl vent is more visable on the roof line, but offers greater protection against wind driven rain when compared to an in-line vent. A large cowl option offers double the ammount of ventilation, compared to a small cowl vent (Ventilation Area: 10,000mm Sq Small Cowl - 20,000mm Sq Large Cowl). What is the difference between a large cowl vent and a small cowl vent?

The difference between a small and large cowl is the ventilation area it covers the small cowl vent has a ventilation area of 10,000mm Sq and the large cowl vent has a ventilation area of 20,000mm Sq.

How do i know what roof tile vent will fit on my roof?

If we can provide a roof tile vent that fits your roof, it will be available on the website by the name of the roof tile it fits, for example if you have Marley (Brand) Wessex (Model) roof tiles, the roof tile vent will be called a Marley Wessex roof tile vent.
If you do not know what roof tiles you have on your roof, not to worry we are more than happy to help you identify them and see if we are able to provide a suitable tile vent.

How to identify roof tiles

  1. Remove a tile from your roof.
  2. Check the back of the tile for any markings i.e. manufacturer name (Redland, Marley, Sandtoft etc).
  3. Take note of the dimensions of the tile.
  4. Take note of the profile of the tile.
  5. Visit the tile manufacturers website for clarification of tile using details above. For example, if it says 'Redland' on the back, go to Redlands website to identify your tile using the dimensions and profile.
Alternatively, if you cannot identify the tile, take some images (front and back) and email or whatsapp them over to us to see if we can help.

How do i fit a roof tile vent?

What is a pipe adaptor and do i need one?

A pipe adaptor is an adaptor that will be sent with your vent if selected, this adaptor allows you to connect a 110/125mm pipe onto the back of the vent, so you can use the roof tile vent to extract air from an extractor fan from your bathroom or kitchen cooker hood.

Can a roof tile vent be used to vent my cooker hood or my bathroom extractor fan?

Yes the ventilation tiles we provide can be used to extract your bathroom or cooker hood, remember to tick the 'Add Pipe Adaptor' box when ordering.

How many ventilation tiles do i need?

Depending on the size of your roof will determine how many vent tiles are required to sufficently ventilate your roof space.

How to Calculate Number of Roof Vents Required

Where should i place my roof tile vents on my roof?

The manufacturer recommend that the vents are fitted around 400mm away from the ridge and at a minimum the second course of tiles at the eaves.

How do i ventilate my roof properly?

The general rule of thumb when it comes to sufficiently ventilating your roof space is to always install your roof with 2 levels of ventilation.

Low level ventilation - Low level ventilation allows fresh air in to the roof. This can be achieved through soffit vents, over fascia vents, ventilating through the eaves of your roof or roof tile vents positioning them lower down on your roof at a minimum along the second course of tiles at the eaves.

High Level Ventilation - High level ventilation lets the hot stale air out of the roof space allowing the roof to breath and reduce the chance of condensation. High level ventilation can be achieve through ridge tile vent, a dry ridge system of roof tile vents place high up on the roof, 400mm away from the ridge.
